In some use cases, it might be convenient to be able to send notifications for one type of event to some users, and notifications for another type of event to other users. Normally this would require multiple notification roles, but setting them up and managing them would quickly become a hassle.
A good alternative is to set up a single notification role, subscribe the users to this role, and mute any unwanted notifications on a per user basis. This way, users only receive notifications that are relevant to their duties.
Attention
When you mute, or unmute, a notification, the scope is limited to:
Project level: only notifications relating to the current project are muted.
Event level: only notifications for this specific event are muted, those for other events remain in effect.
Asset level: the user will still receive notifications for this event from other, unmuted, assets.
User level: other users will not be impacted, and continue to receive notifications for that asset.
Mute a notification
Click Events in the navigation menu, and go to the Notifications tab.
Search for, and click on, the user you wish to mute. A list of asset groups appears for which there are assets he receives notifications.
Click on the asset group to which the asset belongs. A list of events appears for which he receives notifications.
In the MUTE column, click on the loudspeaker icon to change the mute status for the corresponding event.

Is the event currently muted or unmuted?
The mute status for an event is indicated by the type of loudspeaker icon, displayed in the MUTE column:
unmuted - the user will receive notifications for this event.
muted - the user will not receive any notifications for this event.
Unmute a notification
With one simple click on the loudspeaker icon, you can switch between muting and unmuting an event.
Just click on the loudspeaker icon to change the mute status to the desired setting, as described above.
