Asset indicators

Asset indicators provide information about the functional status of your assets. There are two types of asset indicators:

  • One or more colored dots, that indicate the activity status of the asset and/or gateway.

  • And optionally, an icon that shows wether an event has been triggered, and at what level.

Activity indicators

The colored dots indicate whether the asset and/or gateway are active.
Hover your mouse over the activity indicator to see the time and date of the most recent activity.

Both the appliance and the gateway are active.

The gateway is lagging behind and is processing older, unprocessed data.

The gateway is active, but the appliance connected to it is not active.

Both the appliance and the gateway are inactive.

Event indicators

When an icon is visible, an event has occurred for the corresponding asset.
The color for each icon is defined in the event definitions panel.

The absence of an icon means the event status is normal.
When the asset is inactive, the icon is always grey.

A grey icon means that the asset is currently inactive.

The event indicator for an asset will be visible for as long as the alert is active.
It will disappear when the event is acknowledged, or when the alert level returns back to normal.

Acknowledging an event

There are three ways to acknowledge an event. Each method has different advantages, and disadvantages.

Hint!

Notice the position of the Only Show My Subscriptions toggle button. When this button is enabled, only events to which you are subscribed will be listed.

Via the detail dashboard

If a detail dashboard contains an Event overview widget, you can do this by clicking on the Acknowledge button, next to the event.
The advantage is that the acknowledgement is specific to the asset you are currently viewing.
However, not every detail dashboard includes this widget, so this method may not be applicable.

Via the home dashboard

If the home dashboard contains an Event overview widget, you can do this by clicking on the Acknowledge button, next to the event.
The advantage is that if the widget is present, it is immediately accessible after opening a project.
Keep in mind that not every home dashboard includes this widget, so this method may not be applicable.

Via the events page

From the Events page, go to the Event overview tab and click on the Acknowledge button, next to the event.
This page is available to all users, but because events for all assets are listed here, you might need to use the search bar to quickly locate the asset.
