Calculus Map widget

A Calculus Map widget displays the locations of one or more gateways. If desired, the map also shows the movements of these gateways.

Widget control elements

  • Map type buttons
    Lets you switch between Map and Satellite view modes.

  • Asset icon
    Clicking on it, displays a coaster containing:

    • The asset indicator and the name of the asset.

    • Information about favorite sensors, if you have set them.

    • A link to the travel directions.

    • A link to the details dashboard.

  • Fullscreen icon
    Allows you to view the map full screen.
    Clicking it a second time switches back to widget view.

  • Eye icon
    Presents you with the following options:

    • Use asset group colors for the asset icon.

    • Include a traffic layer on the map.

    • Show inactive assets.

    • Focus all points.

    • Switch between Track and Trace, and Show Assets mode.

  • Map camera controls
    Lets you move around on the map, and use the zoom function.

  • Pegman icon
    Dragging this icon to a location on the map, shows a street view.

Widget configuration panel

In the widget selection panel, click on Calculus Map. A new panel will appear where you can configure the widget.

Settings

Fill in the fields below:

  • Map type
    Choose one of the following types:

    • Satellite: displays a photorealistic map based on aerial imagery.

    • Terrain: displays a physical map based on terrain information.

    • Roadmap: displays the default road map view with basemap labels.

    • Hybrid: displays the satellite map view with basemap labels.

  • Widget width
    The width in relation to the screen width.

  • Height
    The height of the widget in pixels.

  • Line color
    Choose a color for the lines depicting the route travelled for the asset.

  • Order
    The position on the dashboard.

  • Calculus map mode
    Choose one of the following modes:

    • Track and Trace: displays the current asset on the map, and the route it has travelled.

    • Show Assets: displays the current asset on the map, and all assets from the same asset group within a set radius.

  • Radius in meters
    If Calculus map mode is set to Show Assets, lets you set the maximum distance from the current asset at which other assets from the same asset group are shown.

  • Use clustering

  • Always show labels
    If enabled, asset names will always be visible.

  • Use asset group colors
    If enabled, assets will be colored as defined in the asset group.

  • Show traffic layer
    If enabled, extra traffic information will be displayed on the map.

Click Next to go to Location.

Location

Fill in the fields below:

  • Override location
    If enabled, lets you set a location manually.

  • Address/Location
    A physical address, or a GPS coordinate that you can look up using the Get location button.

  • Max zoom
    How close you can zoom in on the map.

Click Save to add the widget to the dashboard.
