Introduction
You can give a user or client the ability to create their own projects, without being able to make changes to your projects. To do this, you use a subsidiary.
Attention!
The terms company and subsidiary are used in the context of the Calculus Portal to refer to user accounts and the way in which they can communicate with each other. They do not refer to companies and subsidiaries as used in the commercial sense.
A subsidiary itself functions as a business, but it is subject to the rights of the parent company.
Users of the main company can make changes to the subsidiary and the projects associated with it, depending on their rights.
Conversely, a person who only has rights in the subsidiary cannot make changes to the main company.
This secures the projects of the main company.
Instructions
Click Companies in the navigation menu.
Click the plus button to add a new business.
A panel will appear where you can enter the information of the subsidiary.
After you have filled in the required fields, and any additional information, click Save.
The subsidiary will now appear on the Companies page.
Click the name of the subsidiary to adjust settings and open the Invite Users tab.
Click on the Invite button.
Enter the user’s email address and select the permissions you want this user to have.
When you have checked the desired permissions, click on the Invite button.
Tip!
The Notifications and ViewProject permissions are checked by default. If the subsidiary's user wishes to create projects, it needs the ProjectManagement right.
Once the subsidiary is created, a project with the company name and the suffix "- All Assets" is added in the portal. You can find this project by clicking on the folder icon in the navigation menu.
Type the name of the company in the search field and click on the project with the company name, behind which "- All Assets" is added, to open the project.
