Introduction
To make it easier to keep track of assets, you can use asset groups. Assets belonging to the same group appear together in the dashboard menu overview under the name of the asset group. For example, you can create an asset group of type Heater, for the purpose of grouping all assets of that type. In addition, you can create a group for different asset types. This is called a mixed group. A practical example of this are all assets located in a home.
Create an asset group
Click Assets in the navigation menu.
Then click Add and choose Add Asset Group.
A panel will appear where you can fill in the basic details of the asset group:
Name: the name of the asset group;
Type: asset type for the sensors;
Color: a color for this asset group.
You can set the color of the asset indicator(s) using the drop icon in the Color field.
In the Asset Indicators section, you can choose to display assets on a map by activating the Show Indicators on Map toggle. This indicator is a colored dot.
Save the settings.
Customize an asset group
Click Assets in the navigation menu and open the Groups tab.
Select the asset group. A panel opens where you can customize the name, color, and how asset indicators are displayed.
Please note that the asset type cannot be changed.
Setting a default dashboard
You can set the default dashboards for an asset group in the Visualization tab.
Turning on the switch will use the default detail and overview dashboard.
If you turn off the switches, you can choose which dashboard is used for the detail and overview dashboards.
Add or remove assets
In the Assets tab, you can add new assets, or remove existing assets from an asset group.
To do this, toggle the switch in the Included column on or off.
The Options button allows you to delete the asset group.
Attention!
If you want to add an asset to a project and view the dashboard, it should be added to an asset group in that project.
Rename an asset in an asset group
In the Assets tab of the asset group, you can change the name of an asset in the Name column.
Attention!
When you change the name of an asset in an asset group, this only applies to the project you are currently in.
Manage asset groups from the project page
Click Projects in the navigation menu and open the project for which you want to manage the asset groups.
Go to the Asset Groups tab. Here you can create and modify asset groups in the same way as through Assets.
