How to connect a DEIF BGC-2 to the impulse gateway

Please note! You need a USB-expansion card for your Impulse gateway to complete this setup

To connect the DEIF BGC-2 to the Impulse gateway, you need the following components:    

• DEIF programming interface Basic Genset Controller:     RJ11 to RS232
• StarTech ICUSB2322F:         1x USB to 2x RS232
• StarTech SCNM9FF1MBK:   RS232 female to RS232 female (AKA null modem cable)

If you want to connect two BGC-2’s to one gateway, you will need two null modem cables.

Step 1:
Connect the DEIF BGC-2 to the programming interface through its RJ11 socket

Step 2:
Connect the programming interface to the null modem cable

Step 3:
Connect the null modem cable to the RS232 <> USB cable

Step 4:
Connect the RS232 <> USB cable to the USB socket of the Impulse gateway

Step 5 (optional):
Repeat step 1 – 4 with the remaining RS232 port to connect a second DEIF BGC-2 to your gateway
