The screen of the Eastron power meter does not light up

Possible causes

  • The power is not switched on.

  • The connection of the power meter has contact errors or is not correct.

Possible solutions

  • Turn on the power supply.

  • Check the wiring of the power meter.

  • Check whether the L3 and N of the current meter are getting power.

The LED of the +24V power supply does not light up

Possible causes

  • The power is not switched on.

  • The connection of the power supply has contact errors or is not correct.

Possible solutions

  • Turn on the power supply.

  • Check the wiring of the power supply.

The C04's green Power LED does not light up

Possible causes

  • The power is not switched on.

  • The connection of the power supply has contact errors or is not correct.

Possible solutions

  • Turn on the power supply.

  • Check the wiring of the C04.

  • Check that the power connector of the C04 is fully inserted.

The C04's green Power LED lights up, but the Status LED stays off

Possible causes

  • There is a problem with the C04.

Possible solutions

The Status LED of the C04 remains red

Possible causes

  • There is a reception problem.

  • There is a problem with the SIM card.

  • There is a problem with the C04.

Possible solutions

  • Ensure correct positioning of the antenna in relation to GSM masts and nearby structures.

  • Make sure the antenna is connected correctly. Is the antenna cable marked LTE connected to the LPWAN connection of the C04?

  • Check the SIM card:

    • Turn off the power and open the cabinet of the measuring solution.

    • Disconnect all wiring from the C04.

    • Disconnect the device from the DIN rail with a small flat screwdriver and remove the device from the cabinet.

    • Using a small flat screwdriver, lightly press the SIM card. This springs up so that you can remove it from the device. Carefully pull out the SIM card.

    • Remove any dirt or grease from the contacts on the SIM card. Use Isopropanol if necessary.

    • Insert the SIM card back in and click it back in with the same small screwdriver.

    • Replace and reconnect the device according to Connection C04 of this manual.

    • Screw on the case and turn on the power.

    • Wait for 5 minutes to see if the Status LED turns green.

The C04 comes online in the portal but current measurement values are missing

Possible causes

  • There is a problem with the Modbus cabling between the C04 and the Eastron.

  • There is a Modbus setup problem on the Eastron or the C04.

Possible solutions

  • Check the connectors of both devices.

  • On the C04, the connections on the connector from left to right are: A (+), B (-), GND.

Check the Modbus settings of the Eastron. Default settings in this application are:

  • Baudrate: 9600 bps

  • Parity bit: none

  • Stop bits: 1

  • Slave address: 1

Check the gateway settings or create a ticket if you do not have sufficient permissions to do so.

The C04 comes online in the portal but temperature values are missing

Possible causes

  • There is a problem with the connection of the temperature sensor.

Attention!

The essential version does not have a temperature sensor.

Possible solutions

  • Check the sensor connection and verify that it is fully inserted and in the correct socket.

The C04 comes online in the portal but the value of the door contact does not change when opening/closing the door

Possible causes

  • You don't have a Premium version of the smart modular unit.

  • The door contact sensor is not installed correctly or is defective.

  • There is a problem with the connection of the sensor.

Possible solutions

  • If you do not have the Premium version with door monitoring, it is best to create a ticket for an adjustment of your subscription.

  • Measure with a voltage meter between the "-" or GND of the +24V power supply and the upcoming connection of the door contact.

  • If the door is closed you should measure +24V here. If this is not the case, make sure that the door contact is correctly placed.

  • Replace the door contact if necessary.

The solution regularly does not react as it should, making the modular unit too hot or too cold

Possible causes

  • The door contact is not installed correctly or is defective.

  • There is a malfunction problem when switching the heating or cooling. This can be supplemented with the following symptoms: the C04 periodically loses its connection or when switching a relay, the C04 stops responding for a while.

Possible solutions

  • Check the door contact. Is it hanging in such a way that there can be doubt about its proper functioning? Then this must be repaired.

  • After all, the supplied magnet must be attached to the door and end up close to the contact when the door is closed.

There may be a malfunction problem when switching the relays and you have not installed the necessary interference suppression for this.
