Installing Calculus Digger

You can get Calculus Digger by navigating to https://updates.calculus.group/digger/ and clicking the Install button. This will initiate a file download (setup.exe). Execute this file to start the installation process.

It’s possible that some additional components need to be installed. If so, make sure to install them.

You may get a notification that the publisher is not verified, but you can safely proceed.
Once installed, it will ask for your login details. Use the credentials you use to log in to the Calculus Portal.

Hint!

When Digger is started, it automatically checks for updates, so that you always have the latest version.

Using Calculus Digger

When you have succesfully logged in to Digger, you will see the screen below.

In the field Select Gateway, choose the gateway you want to connect to. Only see gateways that are online, and linked to projects to which you have access, will be available.
Choose modbus.tcp in Select Slave Definition.
After this, you can select the IP address to which the DSE controller is connected in Select Slave.
Finally, click on the Activate button to create a tunnel connection to the selected gateway.

Deep Sea Electronics Configuration Suite

Next, open the Deep Sea Electronics Configuration Suite. You can request this tool from Deep Sea Electronics.

For Connect via, select TCP/IP connection. You have previously set this up via the Digger by choosing modbus.tcp at Slave Definition.
Next, go to TCP/IP Settings. When you use the Calculus Digger tool, you must always enter 127.0.0.1 for IP Address and 502 for IP Port. At Server ID, select the Slave ID of the controller through which the modbus is read. This Slave ID can be found in the gateway setting.
Finally, click on the Read from module button, which you will find to the left of Connect via. You now have an active connection to the gateway via the Deep Sea Electronics Digger tool.
